One of the widely used options of the inexpensive flooring types is sheet vinyl flooring. It offers a variety of options that provide a look of wood or stone. It is both very durable and water-resistant, also low-maintenance. And another asset is it can be easily installed over a subfloor that may have some imperfections. On the other hand, the sheet vinyl floor may lose its color over time and it is not eco-friendly since it is not biodegradable.

Another option of affordable flooring types is the luxury vinyl planks and tiles. It gives a natural look to the floor despite its material. It is easy to install on a subfloor with cracks. It is among the best choices nowadays for it has proved to be cost-effective. Luxury vinyl planks resist liquids and humidity. But it is also to be mentioned that LVP may emit volatile organic chemicals, so one should be careful not to put their health at risk if they are sensitive.

Laminate flooring can also be an option in the choice of cheap flooring. It has several varieties that resemble stone and hardwood. As for its planks, they snap together and make it really easy to install the flooring. It is low-maintenance and has no risk of discoloration, as well as it is easy to clean. Though it may also release volatile organic chemicals and it seems hollow when stepping on it. The overall price of the laminate flooring depends on the thickness of the planks, the thinner the cheaper. However, the most cost-effective option would make to have a laminate of a max 8mm thickness. 

Ceramic tiles can also be found quite inexpensive in the market. These are water- and humidity-resistant and very durable. Ceramic tiles are easy to clean and maintain and they enable various designs to choose from. On the contrary, they are difficult to install and not really likely to be completed without the help of a professional.  

Sheet vinyl is believed to be the cheapest option in the market, but anyways the price of the flooring actually depends on the quality of the materials.
